The Elgin Lady Owls are heading into the 2025 season with a renewed sense of energy and determination after finishing 2024 with a 19-23 record. Head Coach Levi Garrett is eager to see what this group can accomplish, as the roster features a healthy blend of talented newcomers and seasoned veterans. “I am excited about this year’s team,” Garrett said. “We have a healthy squad rolling into 2025 with some really good young players to mix with several seasoned veterans.”
Leading the way is senior Kelby Carter, a versatile utility player who has proven she can perform at a high level across multiple positions. At 5’10” with a strong throwing arm, Carter is an athletic standout who consistently delivers quality at-bats and runs the bases well. Her skillset and athleticism make her a true next-level player.
The team also boasts one of the nation’s premier young prospects in Kynli Garrett, a 2027 standout who has already drawn interest from several Division I Power Four programs. She competes for the nationally ranked Oklahoma Athletics National Madden/Davis travel team, where she showcases her elite skillset as a catcher, middle infielder, and offensive weapon. Her speed and ability to impact games at the plate make her one of the most exciting players to watch in the country.
Another key contributor is sophomore pitcher Kynslie Maples, who started every game as a freshman last season. With that valuable experience under her belt, she is expected to be one of the team’s anchors in the circle and a consistent force in the lineup. Incoming freshman Kylee Garrett, the younger sister of Kynli and daughter of Coach Garrett, will add depth to the pitching staff while bringing a powerful bat to the offense. Her gap-to-gap power and strong softball IQ will make an immediate impact.
Rounding out the squad is Adlynn McCracken, a hardworking utility player and excellent defender who thrives in multiple positions. Known for her positive attitude and team-first mentality, McCracken provides consistency, leadership, and energy in the dugout.
With a roster full of talent, depth, and determination, Coach Garrett and the Owls are prepared to make noise in 2025 and take the program to new heights.
